The Ivory-Billed Woodpecker is an incredibly endangered to nearly extinct species of woodpecker native to the old-growth forests of Louisiana and Arkansas.

The Woodpecker is a bird whose spiritual meaning is that of prosperity, perseverance, and spiritual healing. Woodpeckers are among the smartest birds in the world and are notorious for the rhythmic thrumming sound of their tree boring habits.
Candice was inspired to create this piece by the woodpeckers drilling holes in the trees in her backyard.
